šŸ· ChĆ¢teau L’Hospitalet La Clape Grand Vin 20 šŸ· ChĆ¢teau L’Hospitalet La Clape Grand Vin 2020 – GĆ©rard Bertrand, Sud de France

A perfect choice for a girls’ night in by the fireplace. ✨
Rich, smooth, and beautifully layered — this French red wraps you in warmth with every sip. The kind of wine that makes laughter linger a little longer and conversations flow effortlessly.

Firelight, good friends, and a glass of something this lovely — that’s what evenings are made for. šŸ•ÆļøšŸ‡

Borel Flats Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 – Paso Roble Borel Flats Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 – Paso Robles, CA

A medium-acid, full-bodied Cab that starts strong but somehow misses the mark. The flavor profile leans toward the classic dark fruit side, yet something about the color and clarity threw me off — it didn’t quite deliver that deep, velvety richness I expect from a bold red.

Still, it’s a drinkable wine for a casual evening, especially if you’re not looking for anything too complex. Maybe just not one I’d reach for again.

šŸ· Ruffino Riserva Ducale Chianti Classico 2020 šŸ· Ruffino Riserva Ducale Chianti Classico 2020

A bold Italian classic with that unmistakable Tuscan character. The first sip opens with deep red fruit and earthy undertones — but it leans on the acidic side, leaving a little warmth as it goes down. Still, there’s something charming about its rustic edge — the kind of wine that demands good company, a cozy afternoon, and maybe a little pasta on the side. šŸ‡®šŸ‡¹

Treillage Pinot Noir 2023 – Los Carneros, CA My Treillage Pinot Noir 2023 – Los Carneros, CA

My first wine from Firstleaf — and I have to say, it’s pleasantly smooth. This Pinot Noir stands out for its gentle acidity, soft structure, and notes of caramel and red fruit. While it doesn’t have the depth or boldness of premium estate Pinots, it’s beautifully balanced and easy to enjoy on a casual evening.

Pairs perfectly with a light charcuterie board, roasted veggies, or even a simple hummus plate. A great everyday Pinot for those who prefer elegance over intensity.

✨ Rating: 6.2 out of 10 – approachable, balanced, and gracefully crafted.

šŸ· Weekend Getaway Vibes ✨ We rented the most šŸ· Weekend Getaway Vibes ✨

We rented the most charming lakefront cottage in Coventry, CT through Vrbo, and it couldn’t have been more perfect — crisp fall air, glowing colors reflecting on the water, and the best company a girl could ask for.

Between kayaking, cozy fires, and endless laughter, we opened this Vecchio Marone Amarone della Valpolicella (2017) — a bold Italian red that matched the richness of the weekend itself. The deep, full-bodied flavors were liked by my team, I personally developed a little headache that often happens when I drink a wine that is on dryer side with elevated acidity.

My score: 4.7

I’m so grateful for my girlfriends — their care, creativity, passion, and next-level cooking skills made this trip unforgettable. ā¤ļø

If you’re planning your own cozy fall escape, check out Vrbo for hidden-gem lake cottages like ours in CT to see the colors change… and don’t forget to pack a good bottle of Amarone! šŸ·

ChĆ¢teau L’Hospitalet Grand Vin 2020 – La Clap ChĆ¢teau L’Hospitalet Grand Vin 2020 – La Clape, GĆ©rard Bertrand
A beautiful red blend from the sun-kissed Mediterranean region of La Clape, ChĆ¢teau L’Hospitalet Grand Vin immediately impresses with its deep ruby color and elegant structure. On the first sip, you’re greeted with lively acidity that opens up into layers of dark berries, black cherries, and subtle spice. As the wine breathes, its full-bodied richness unfolds—silky tannins balance the fruit intensity and deliver a long, satisfying finish.

This is a wine that evolves wonderfully with time in the glass; what begins as vibrant and bold transforms into something graceful and complex. Perfect for both a cozy evening in or a special dinner with friends, this Grand Vin truly captures the spirit of the South of France.

✨ If you follow my Instagram @grapetrailsatlas, you’ve likely seen this gem make a few appearances—it’s one I can’t help but return to again and again.
Catching up with one of my dearest friends in Conn Catching up with one of my dearest friends in Connecticut, and she brought this classic table wine — Yellow Tail Jammy Red Roo. At first, I thought it’d be just another casual red, but honestly, it’s such an easy, fruity, and fun pour for friendly nights in.

Sweet notes of berries and a touch of spice make it a good pick for a relaxed evening filled with laughter, homemade treats, and good company. Sometimes, simple wines like this remind us that it’s not always about complexity — it’s about connection. ā¤ļø It’s widely praised for being approachable and budget friendly, though some critics say it leans a bit sweet and lacks complexity.

My first sip? Bold and a bit sharp — the acidity hits right away. But let it breathe for an hour, and suddenly everything changes. Layers of dark fruit, spice, and elegance unfold beautifully, revealing exactly why this wine earned its 94 points. Even though it has fallen from 95 to 94, since the last time I tasted it. Weekend getaway + mountain air + a bottle of Avali Weekend getaway + mountain air + a bottle of Avaline Red = perfection. ā¤ļø

This light-to-medium-bodied organic red brought such a cozy, easy-drinking vibe to our girls’ night. With notes of cherry, a hint of spice, and a soft finish, it paired beautifully with laughter, good music, and way too many snacks.

We couldn’t have picked a better bottle to kick off our mountain weekend — smooth, flavorful, and totally guilt-free (vegan + no added sugar šŸ™Œ).
